Small Group
Friday night I met up with J.D. so he could help me overcome the language barrier at the Apple Store. My first Mac and it crapped out after 2 months! Hopefully I´ll have it back Thursday. Ojala! I´ll be able to post pictures again when I get it back.
After that, I went to Rey de Reyes for Friday night small groups for younger people. It was total chaos, but a great experience! There must have been 400-500 people between the ages of 18 and 35 packed into the sultry auditorium. We sat in groups of 5-7 and studied a Bible lesson. I struggled to understand anything because of all the background noise! A new language in the midst of background noise is like an old lady with hearing aids at a party. It´s difficult to distinguish much of anything and it drives you crazy! I couldn´t believe the voracity with which the guys in my group consumed the very, very basic lesson about how God has good plans for their life and the Holy Spirit is there to help them. Most of them were new Christians, having made their conversion only 2-12 months ago.

Afterwards, Marcelo and his friend took me out for coffee. I had to ask them to repeat things continually, but we made it work. Marcelo is 27 and has only known God for 2 months. He comes from a Catholic background and is working to change a lot of old habits. He was very gracious and went out of his way to befriend me that night. I hope to make many more Christian Argentine friends here in BA in the coming months.
