Tango Lessons
A group of us went to group tango lessons in Palermo Viejo last night. That was a waste of time! Every 3 steps we bumped into someone because it was so crowded. I was excited about the prospect of learning tango, but it looks like private lessons will be the best option.
There were about 3 times as many women as men, so one would think any girl would have been happy to dance with me. Such was not the case. I managed to dance with one of the most beautiful girls in room, but man was she arrogant! After approaching her to dance, she gave me the “I guess if I have to” shrug and look. Just like every other couple in the room, we were continually bumping into others and restarting. She was frustrated not only by this but by the fact that we weren’t “going with the music.” It was Remedial Tango 101, Class #1. Shut up! Anyway, she eventually said she needed a break and went and sat down in the middle of the practice session. Shot down in the middle of a 3-1 woman to man ratio–that hurts. Given the fact she was from Holland, maybe I shouldn’t have been surprised by her attitude.
