Happy Thanksgiving

Well, considering I´m outside of the U.S., I had a nice Thanksgiving. David from Pittsburgh arranged and cooked the food. We had 5 turkeys, corn, and mashed potatoes and polished off every bit of it. About 25 people signed up and over 45 showed up to eat. That seams to be how things go with the school. It was pleasant, but frustrating to be overcrowded and only have 8 Americans there in the group.

What could not be replicated was the atmosphere. We started eating at 9 p.m. In the U.S., it´s usually 1 or 2, followed by football, napping, and more eating. Here it was just a meal. We didn´t even pray or give thanks before eating. I wasn´t surprised by this, but it would have been nice to at least pretend to observe the meaning of the day. Also, there was no Black Friday the next day. Just Friday as usual. Not that I would have shopped and fought the crowds in the U.S., but it´s fun to think about.
