Tigre

I´ve ordered a new camera and am trying to arrange a smuggler to bring it here after Christmas. In the meantime, I´m trying not to get frustrated with its absence. Yesterday, I went to Tigre with Valeria and Sophie and it really would have been nice to have it.

Tigre is in BA province and about an hour north of where I live in Capital Federal. It´s really a nice, tranquil setting with a small river, shops, and restaurants. Because there´s more tourist money there, most things are newer and the train that travels there has air conditioning. We didn´t rent one yesterday, but you can rent kayaks and canoes either during the day or under the moonlight.

It was hot yesterday, but not too bad. We strolled around the shops and sat in the shade by the river to talk and take a siesta. Once again, I was really tired and stumbled for words because my brain is operating at about 5% efficiency right now. But it was still fun. After sunset, we found a seemingly nice restaurant. I don´t think I´ve ever eaten that bad of food at a restaurant in my life! It reminded me exactly of the ORU cafeteria. After eating part of the meal, your hunger ceases, not because you´ve eaten a lot, but because you can´t stomach any more. There is also a sense of disbelief that you´re actually paying for the food. But we did find some excellent ice cream afterwards to help irradicate the memories of 20 minutes earlier.
