Apartments

Gracias a Dios, I was able to get out of my final month of classes and homestay at the school. I´ve learned a lot, but it´s time to move on. The school is in a horrible location, the building is very poor, and the school is really disorganized right now. Today there wasn´t any power in much of the downtown area. This was not the school´s fault, but it demonstrated the problems with the school. There was a lack of leadership and when the director showed up late, she snapped at everyone. She has the respect of very few people and treats the professors as though they are expendible and easily replaced by any old Juan Perez off the street.

As a result, I´m currently looking to move into an apartment ASAP and take private classes outside of the school. It´s quite the process because apartments are much more costly for foreigners, especially online. My belief in capitalism is killing me right now! Regardless, the prices are a whole lot better than the U.S. For my classes, there is a women at church who has a degree for teaching Spanish to foreigners and now teaches privately. It should be cheaper, more comfortable, and more convenient than the language school.
