Live Earth

My opinion of pop culture and it stars continues its precipitous decline from extremely low to well, whatever is below that. The intellectual vacuity and sheer ignorance of these people will never cease to amaze me. Al Gore announced that on July 7th, he, Cameron Diaz, and others will help host a concert series named “Live Earth.” The list of over 100 music stars includes the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Snoop Dogg, Black Eyed Peas, Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, John Mayer and Faith Hill. They will save us all by performing in order to raise awareness of global warming and fund Al Gore’s foundation. These artists are political pawns and too dumb to realize it because they think this is a noble endeavor and enjoy the satisfaction that brings. Let’s hope this is as successful as Live 8 was at eliminating world poverty back in 2005.

I don’t go to many movies, buy much music, or pay a lot of attention to pop culture in the first place. How millions and millions worldwide take these people seriously and love and worship them is beyond my understanding. Sometimes I contemplate never going to another movie again because I can’t stand the vitriol these people spew out towards our country or their incomprehensible ignorance. Frankly, pop culture insults my intelligence and is one of my biggest pet peeves. Live 8 was nothing more than a chance to bash the United States and try to shame us into complying with their demands. Live Earth will feature the same anti-American, anti-Industrial attitude cloaked in the form of caring about the future. It will also offer the same “World Community” mumbo jumbo. I am not and never will be a citizen of the World. I am a Christian, an American, and a part-time Argentine. That’s it.

This notion of global warming is so bereft of intellect and I can’t write any more right now without going insane. It’s really late and I’m going to bed.

I didn’t realize this, but Rush was reminding us that back in the seventies, the entire scientific community was telling the world that ‘global cooling’ was occuring. And they were encouraging individuals to act accordingly at that time. Don’t these people have anything better to do? And so what if the temperature has risen a nano degree…or if the temp was cooling 20 years ago? Are humans really the culprit’s? Did you know that the vikings used to farm on Greenland? You should know that over anyone, Kyle. They worked the land and sweated a lot! …and humanity survived. I even have some research from Suffolk Community College in Long Island: “The very warm climate during the Medieval Warming Period allowed a great migration to flourish… The warmer climate would also result in a greater harvest in Iceland than would be experienced today so the land must have looked more inviting in the past than it does today.” But don’t take my word for it.
