Leaving on a Jetplane
It’s 11:20 a.m. local Buenos Aires time. There’s not much left to do as I don’t have too much to pack. I’m only bringing some summer clothes like shorts, t-shirts, a couple polos, and a pair of jeans. Since we’re going to Northern Minnesota, I’m also adding my hiking boots and poles. I need lots of room for things I want to bring back here. It’s quite a surreal feeling right now as my flight leaves in a mere 10 hours. I cannot believe I will be on US soil in less than 24 hours. This appears to be more of a dream than real life.
Vanesa is doing the best she can, but she’s going to have a rough month. When I took my trip in March, it was torture for her. She slept with one of my shirts next to her pillow since the smell reminded her of me. I imagine the month of July will be a bit more difficult yet. Thankfully, she’s going to spend a lot of time at her parents’ house and enjoy the month of vacation. I’m trying to tone down my excitement as I know she wanted so badly to accompany me on this trip.
