English Certification

The Internet is the great equalizer in many regards. No longer can anyone say they don’t have an opportunity or the means to study and learn. So, I feel like a dunce for not having thought of this before. I need some various means of setting myself apart and it finally occurred to me that maybe I could earn my Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL) certification online. Sure enough, a Google search quickly revealed a relatively cheap, 100 hour course that includes a tutor and a free 50 hour class on teaching business English. I had been researching online graduate school programs and I have no idea why I didn’t think of this before. Now I’ll have to do a little research to see whether these are decent programs or just “pay for your diploma” deals. Obviously, there is no substitute for real world experience, but many of the schools here will take anyone who is a native speaker as long as they can demonstrate even some qualification. Also, I’m going to ask a couple friends for their opinions. Maybe there are reasonable classroom options in Buenos Aires as well.

Hehe…An online course ought to be about the same quality, right? Next time we see each other, you can give me a lesson and teach how it works in the real world. Until then, this will have to do.
